Trackhouse team principal Davide Brivio believes the sensational 1-2 finish at the Assen MotoGP came down to a very simple factor. He credited his riders for simply performing better than their counterparts at the factory Aprilia Racing squad.

The American-owned satellite team enjoyed a dream weekend at the Cathedral of Speed. Ai Ogura clinched his maiden Grand Prix victory on Sunday ahead of teammate Raul Fernandez, perfectly reversing their 1-2 finish from Saturday’s Sprint race. In stark contrast, the factory Aprilia team only managed fourth and fifth in the Sprint, followed by a third-place finish for Jorge Martin in the main Grand Prix after Marco Bezzecchi suffered an early crash.

When asked about the performance gap between the two Aprilia garages, Brivio pointed directly to the men on the bikes. He emphasized that Trackhouse receives the exact same material and shares all data completely with the factory team, with engineers meeting daily to ensure full transparency.

Brivio admitted that the Sprint 1-2 celebrations were slightly muted because Saturday results do not carry the same weight as a Grand Prix victory. However, replicating the incredible feat on Sunday sparked massive joy for the young squad.

Brivio highlighted several reasons why the Assen result is a historic achievement for the team

1) Trackhouse is the newest and youngest team to arrive in the MotoGP paddock

2) They operate as an independent satellite squad rather than a full factory team

3) Ai Ogura has rapidly grown from his rookie season into a Grand Prix winner

4) Raul Fernandez is finally in a position to fully express his massive potential

5) The dedicated mechanics and engineers have perfectly maximized Aprilia’s development work
