Harimau Malaya Held by 10-Man Indonesia in Tense 0–0 Nusantara Derby

Harimau Malaya were held to a 0–0 draw by 10-man Indonesia in a tense FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 Group A clash at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium.

Indonesia were reduced to 10 men in the first half after Thom Haye was sent off following a VAR review for a challenge on Arif Aiman.

Malaysia had opportunities to take advantage, with Arif Aiman testing goalkeeper Maarten Paes before substitutes Paulo Josue and Fergus Tierney also went close after the break.

Despite playing with the numerical advantage for more than half the match, Tan Cheng Hoe’s side could not find the decisive goal as Indonesia defended strongly to secure a point.

Malaysia will now turn their attention to their final Group A match against Singapore on 1 October, while Indonesia face Bangladesh.
