Manchester City have been found in breach of Premier League financial rules following the publication of findings from an independent commission.

The case relates to financial information provided by the club across multiple seasons between 2009 and 2018, including matters involving sponsorship revenue, operating costs and compliance with league financial regulations.

Reuters reported that City were found guilty on 114 of 115 charges, although the disciplinary process is not yet complete and no final sanction has been announced.

Manchester City strongly reject the findings, maintaining that the club is innocent of the accusations and arguing that the commission’s opinion contains material errors of law, principle and fact.

The club has confirmed that it will pursue the appeal avenues available to it, meaning the case could continue before any punishment is finalised.
