Build Your Racing Empire: Motorsport Manager 2 Arrives on Steam in 2027
Racing strategy fans, the wait is almost over. Playsport has officially announced the long-awaited sequel to its beloved 2016 management simulation, with Motorsport Manager 2 set to launch on Steam in 2027. Promising a deeper, broader, and more ambitious experience, the new title marks the franchise’s highly anticipated return to PC.
Rather than completely reinventing the wheel, Playsport is focusing on a massive evolution of the original game’s highly addictive core loop. Players will once again step into the high-pressure shoes of a team principal, but this time they will oversee an expanded roster of racing disciplines, including Single Seater, GT, and Endurance categories.
The sequel introduces significantly deeper tactical mechanics. AI rival teams are now programmed to dynamically react to changing track conditions, pit stop strategies, and on-track battles. Furthermore, a highly advanced new weather simulation system will allow for localized conditions, meaning it could be pouring rain on one sector of the circuit while remaining completely dry on another.
A major selling point for Motorsport Manager 2 is its complete creative freedom. Unbound by official real-world licenses or regulations, players have a blank canvas to build their own racing universe. The developers have also confirmed day-one modding support, allowing the community to seamlessly create and share custom teams, drivers, and custom championships. As Project Lead Matt Hanlon explained, “Real-world motorsport is an inspiration, not a limitation.”
While an exact release date has yet to be finalized, players can look forward to a full gameplay reveal this autumn ahead of its 2027 launch.
