The Anfield club had identified the 19-year-old Diomandé as a priority signing to bolster their attack. Despite submitting a lucrative £86.3 million bid—comprising £69 million upfront plus £17.3 million in add-ons—the Ivorian winger ultimately favored the reigning European champions. Diomandé has reportedly agreed to a five-year contract with PSG, leaving club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi highly confident as direct negotiations with RB Leipzig continue.

Wary of repeating last summer’s drawn-out saga for Alexander Isak, Liverpool were quick to walk away and seek alternatives. The setback has immediately shifted their attention to 23-year-old Bradley Barcola.
