Thumbs Up as Cheah Liek Hou Strikes Double Gold in France!
Paralympic champion Cheah Liek Hou made a spectacular comeback after a three-month hiatus due to a thumb injury, securing two gold medals for Malaysia at the French Para Badminton International in Mulhouse.
The 38-year-old battled back from a game down to defeat Taiwan’s Fang Jen-yu 16-21, 21-9, 21-13 to clinch the men’s SU5 singles title. He later partnered with Mohd Faris Ahmad Azri to capture the men’s doubles crown, overcoming the Taiwanese duo of Fang Jen-yu and Pu Gui-yu 21-10, 13-21, 21-16.
Despite pre-tournament worries and lingering pain in his left thumb, Liek Hou successfully regained his match rhythm. Expressing deep gratitude to his supporters, the national hero is now shifting his focus and preparation toward his next major target: the upcoming Asian Para Games in Japan.
