Rising Malaysian badminton star Noraqilah Maisarah Ramdan has proven her remarkable adaptability on the court. The 19-year-old teamed up with scratch partner Ong Xin Yee to capture the women’s doubles title at the second leg of the Under-21 National Championships in Kuantan on Sunday.

The path to victory was a gruelling test of endurance. Noraqilah and Xin Yee battled for nearly an hour in an all-Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) final, dropping the first game before launching a spectacular comeback to defeat teammates Dania Sofea Zaidi and Tan Zhing Hui 14-16, 15-10, 15-11.

Noraqilah was forced to play with a new partner as her regular teammate, Low Zi Yu, is currently representing Malaysia at the Asian Junior Mixed Team Championships in Japan. The regular duo recently made headlines by reaching the quarter-finals of the Australian Open, surging 14 spots to a career-high world No. 70.
